UNLISTED ISSUE. RIC lists only one type with this mintmark pattern for Maximinus as Caesar: Genio Caesaris (HERACLEA 46; BM B.4184, 6.82 g; this specimen cited in RIC) (p. 536). The previous emission of Virtuti Exerciti (HERACLEA 44a-45) has no star in left field. The emission of Genio Imperatoris with star in right field, is attested only for Maximinus as Augustus (HERACLEA 49a; BM B.4192, 6.75 g; this specimen cited in RIC).
Coin may be regarded as a hybrid, like HERACLEA 47 (BM B.4185, 6.88 g; this specimen cited in RIC) (cf. footnote 3 on p. 537: "Presumably a hybrid, with reverse continued inappropriately after Maximinus' promotion". However, in this case with obverse continued inappropriately. Should be listed after HERACLEA 46.
