NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED ISSUE. RIC lists only one type with this mintmark pattern for Maximinus as Caesar: Genio Caesaris (HERACLEA 46; BM B.4184, 6.82 g; this specimen cited in RIC) (p. 536). The emission of Virtuti Exerciti with star in right field, is attested only for Maximinus as Augustus (HERACLEA 52).

Coin may be regarded as a hybrid, like HERACLEA 47 (BM B.4185, 6.88 g; this specimen cited in RIC) (cf. footnote 3 on p. 537: "Presumably a hybrid, with reverse continued inappropriately after Maximinus' promotion". However, in this case with obverse continued inappropriately. Should be listed after HERACLEA 46.
