RIC VII, TICINUM [before 23], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED BUST TYPE [B4], OFFICINA S

OBVERSE

IMPCONSTANTINVSPFAVG [IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG]; bust r., laur., dr., cuir. [B4].

REVERSE

MARTICON-SERVATORI [MARTI CONSERVATORI]; Mars in military dress, stg. r., reversed spear in r. hand, l. on shield set on ground, cloak across r. shoulder. S•T in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - B4. Not attested for obv. legend 1 and this m.m. (p. 362). However, Bruun mentions in footnote 23 on p. 362 that "Maur. [Maurice, Numismatique constantinienne], loc. cit., rev. II, 1, records a bust B4, reffering to Vo [Voetter], not in V. [Vienna]. A coin of off. S without star in field is recorded in V.".

Note that two specimens listed here have no star in left field. Probably an engraver's error or clogged die. Should be listed in RIC before TICINUM 23.
