RIC VII, ROME 396, URBS ROMA, UNLISTED OFFICINA Q
OBVERSE
VRBS-ROM[A] [VRBS ROMA]; bust l., helmet with plume (see CORRIGENDA, VOL. VII, p. 88), wearing imperial cloak.
REVERSE
She-wolf stg. l., suckling twins; two stars above. R*Q in exergue.
NOT IN RIC
UNLISTED OFFICINA - Q. RIC does not specify officina letter for ROME 396 (p. 345).
Footnote 396 on p. 345 reads as follows: "LRBC [Late Roman Bronze Coinage] 571 records the R*Q as the normal mark and the variety with a wreath in the rev. field as an additional mark. No wreathless coins are known except for this FH [Fayoum Hoard] specimen; conceivably the missing wreath is due to inaccurate description".
Apparently the description of FH specimen was accurate. Note, however, that heavier examples of ROME 396 can be easily confused with lighter examples of ROME 370.
