RIC VII, CYZICUS [before 65], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED BUST TYPE [B4]

OBVERSE

CONSTANTI-NVSMAXAVG [CONSTANTINVS MAX AVG]; bust r., laur., dr., cuir. [B4].

REVERSE

GLOR-IAEXER[C]-ITVS [GLORIA EXERCITVS]; two soldiers helmeted, stg. facing one another, spear in outer hand, inner hand on shield set on ground; between them, two standards. SMKΓ• in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - B4. Not attested for obv. legend 1 (p. 653). Note that bust type is uncertain because a pearl diadem could sometimes resemble a wreath. So this coin may be also attributed as CYZICUS 66, unlisted for officina Γ. For comparison, see the undeniable example of CYZICUS 66. Coin should be listed before CYZICUS 65.

NOTES

Diameter 17 mm. Sold on eBay in October 2011 for USD 14.51.
