RIC VII, CONSTANTINOPLE 50, CONSTANTIUS II, [CORRECTION]

OBVERSE

FLIVLCONSTANTIVSNOBC [FL IVL CONSTANTIVS NOB C]; bust l., laur., dr., cuir.

REVERSE

CONSTANT-IVSCAESAR [CONSTANTINVS CAESAR]; Victory advancing l. with wreath and palm branch. CONS* in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

[CORRECTION]. RIC gives m.m. CONS• but the specimen cited in RIC from Hess auction is described in auction catalogue as having m.m. CONS* ("im Abschnitt CONS und Stern", p. 66). Also according to Lars Ramskold (Ramskold - Constantinople silver, footnote 74 on p. 163) "the dot [in m.m.] listed by Bruun is in fact a star". Note that also Depeyrot (p. 117, no. 4/1) repeats this error (dot instead of star).
