NOT IN RIC

MINTMARK VARIETY. Specimen similar to ARLES 379 except for additional pellets on rev. RIC lists only variety with one pellet inside wreath. This variety (or a separate issue) was for the first time described by David Berthod (Emissions inaperçues pour Arles, "Numismatique & Change", no. 452).

Apparently pellets were added to distinguish this emission from the earlier one with empty wreath. So there are possibly still only two m.m. patterns: with wreath (ARLES 370-372) and with wreath and pellet/pellets (ARLES 375-378). Note that also empty wreath has usually pellet (or small rosette) on top of wreath.

Listed in Ferrando (p. 219, no. 966).
