MINTMARK VARIETY. Specimen similar to ARLES 375 except for additional pellet between standards. Pellet is usually placed near central dot (which seems to be technical and therefore does not belong to m.m.). Note, however, that it is not clear if there is always also wreath with dot or not. Listed in Collezione Sabetta (p. 62, no. 197). Not listed in Ferrando.
This variety (or a separate issue) was for the first time described by David Berthod (Emissions inaperçues pour Arles, "Numismatique & Change", no. 452). The present author believes that pellet could have been added to distinguish this emission from one with an empty wreath. In that case, there still would be only two m.m. patterns: one with wreath [ARLES 370-372] and one with wreath and pellet/pellets [ARLES 375-378].
