CONSTANTINVSIVNNOC [CONSTANTINVS IVN NO (sic!) C]; bust l., laur., dr. cuir.

REVERSE

PROVIDE-NTIACAE [PROVIDENTIA (sic!) CAE (sic!)]; gateway with two turrets, star above, no doors, varying number of stone layers. S in left field, F in right field. CONS in exergue.

LEGENDS AND MINTMARK VARIETY. Specimen similar to ARLES 319. Portrait style also suggests Arles but note errors in legends and CONS in exergue. Apparently an ancient imitation.

NOTES

Weight 2.26 g; diameter 19 mm. Sold on Roma Numismatics eSale 118 (lot 1884) in April 2024 for GBP 40.
