RIC VII, AQUILEIA [before 63], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED FOR RULER, ENGRAVER'S ERROR [FORGERY]

OBVERSE

CONST-ANTINVSAVG [CONSTANTINVS AVG]; bust r., helmeted, cuir.

REVERSE

VIRTVS-EXERCIT [VIRTVS EXERCIT]; standard inscribed VOT/XX with captive std. on either side. AQ in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED FOR RULER, ENGRAVER'S ERROR. RIC lists this type only for Licinius I (p. 401). Note unusual m.m. without officina letter, which was in use on the gold and silver coinage at Aquileia at this time, but not on bronze. Looks like an engraver's error, but this coin is probably a modern FORGERY. Otherwise, should be listed before AQUILEIA 63.
