NOT IN RIC
|
[CORRECTION]. RIC attributes this type to Constantine I but lists the unique specimen after Dattari (Giovanni Dattari, "Contribuzione al Corpus delle monete romane battute durante il periodo Costantiniano. Zecca d'Alessandria", Rivista italiana di numismatica 1906, p. 44). Hovewer, Dattari attributed this type to Licinius I (obv. legend is given as: IMP C VAL LICIN LICINIVS P F AVG) which is confirmed by picture on plate I (see below). Additionally, in footnote 11 on p. 705 in RIC Bruun cites Maurice ("Maur. iii, p. 259, rev. III), who also gives Licinius I, not Constantine I. Thus, it is probably a typographical error in RIC: obv. legend marked 1 instead of 2.
