UNLISTED ISSUE. RIC lists similar issue [TREVERI 840-843] for the group of heavier folles only (7.0-5.0 g), with longer obv. legend only ([1a] IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG) and without dot in rev. legend. Note also that rev. legend has double break I-VV-E, but Sutherland mentions in footnote 3 on p. 225 that "the break may be so small as to make its intended existence doubtful".

All these differences lead to the hypothesis that this specimen belongs to unlisted issue of lighter folles (5.0-4.0 g), where shorter legend CONSTANTINVS P F AVG is not unusual [cf. TREVERI 861-864, 872-875]. Footnote 2 on p. 225 suggests that also lighter version of TREVERI 835-839 (another PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS with different reverse) may exist. "Maurice [...] recorded also varieties with IMP C CONSTANTINVS P F AVG (bust A) and CONSTANTINVS P F AVG (bust B) from Trier and Berlin respectively: these are anomalous and therefore suspect". Coin should be listed after TREVERI 843.
