UNLISTED FOR RULER. RIC lists these rare half-folles only for Constantine and Maximian Herculius. The latter has identical obv. legend: IMP MAXIMIANVS P F AVG. Therefore the present attribution is uncertain but cf. portraits on three other specimens attributed to Maximian Herculius: TREVERI 738 (BM 1927,0616.377, cited in RIC, 4.121 g), TREVERI 738 (ANS 1984.146.1349, 3.61 g, 22 mm) and TREVERI 738 (Berlin 18236525, 4.74 g, 22 mm). The ruler looks on them somehow older and apparently his nose is snubbed (detail characteristic of Herculius).
Listed in Saint-Colombier-en-Sarzeau Hoard (p. 74, no. 39). Should be listed in RIC before TREVERI 737.
