OBVERSE

DIOCLETI-ANVSAVG [DIOCLETIANVS AVG]; bust r., laur., dr., seen from rear [C].

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - C. Not attested for obv. legend 1c and this type of rev. (p. 177). RIC lists only bust D, laureate and cuirassed [cf. TREVERI 119a (3.34 g)]. Note that bust type C should be described as seen from rear. See also CORRIGENDA, VOL. VI, p. 177. Note, however, that this coin may be regarded as an ancient imitation. Otherwise, should be listed in RIC before TREVERI 119a.

NOTES

Argenteus. Weight 3.0 1g; diameter 17.5 mm. From CGB Monnaies XVIII (lot 642).
