So, too, are the halves, Paci Perpet-XII and Virt Exercit Gall-XVI; both were produced at all four officinae [...]. The latter type had already appeared on the gold of Trier c. 310 and after, and it now commemorated the happy outcome of what had been an unbroken impetus: the occasion is less one for rejoicing in victory than for rejoicing in the liberation of Rome by the loyalty of the army of Gaul.
