RIC VI, ROMA [before 5a], DIOCLETIAN, UNLISTED ISSUE [IOVI CONSERVATORI]

OBVERSE

DIOCLETI-ANVSPFAVG [DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG]; head r., laur.

REVERSE

IOVICONS-ERVATORI [IOVI CONSERVATORI]; Jupiter seated l. on throne, r. holding thunderbolt, l. leaning on sceptre; to l., eagle with wreath in beak. PR in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED ISSUE. Many types with m.m. PR are omitted in RIC V/2 and RIC VI. There is a very slight possibility that some of them were minted after Reform. Also, others were added here for comparison.

Note that so far four different rev. legend breaks are attested: V-ICONS-E-R, C-ON-S-E, E-R and S-E, which could make in RIC four separate entries (cf. TREVERI 802 and 807 or SISCIA 61 and SISCIA 62).

Listed in Depeyrot (p. 82, no. 6/4; rev. break S-E). Coin could be listed in RIC before ROMA 5a.
