RIC VI, OSTIA 22, MAXENTIUS, [CORRECTION]

OBVERSE

IMPCMAXENTIVSPFAVG [IMP C MAXENTIVS P F AVG]; head r., laur.

REVERSE

VICTORIAAE-T-ERNAAVGN [VICTORIA AETERNA AVG N]; Victory stg. facing, r. holding wreath, l. palm, between six captives on ground (one probably child), hand tied behind. MOSTT in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

[CORRECTION]. RIC cited unique specimen from Paris with officina Γ. See also footnote 3 on p. 403: "Rev. legend much worn, but Dr. Bruun and I have independently read the off. letter as Γ and not T". However, the officina letter is actually T and not Γ. Listed correctly in Drost (p. 337, no. 69b). Therefore this issue probably belongs to the sub-group (ii) with Latin officina letters and should be listed in RIC after OSTIA 53.
