CONSTANTIVSNOBCAES [CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES]; bust r., laur., dr., cuir., r. holding forward-pointing spear, shield on l. arm [P].

REVERSE

GENIOPOP-VLIROMANI [GENIO POPVLI ROMANI]; Genius stg. l., modius on head, naked but for chlamys over l. shoulder, r. holding patera, l. cornucopiae. Altar in left field, officina letter in right field illegible. [P]L[C] in exergue.

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - P. Not attested for obv. legend 3a (p. 251-252). The presence of cuirass could be questionable but note traces of cuirass on neck. Similar type listed in Bastien Lyon (294-316) (p. 178, no. 163) but with bust cuirassed only = bust F*13 in Bastien = bust M in RIC = LUGDUNUM 139. Coin should be listed in RIC after LUGDUNUM 139.

NOTES

Weight 10.64 g; diameter 28 mm. Coin sold on eBay in February 2015 for GBP 620.
