GENIOPOPV-LIROMANI [GENIO POPVLI ROMANI]; Genius stg. l., modius on head, naked but for chlamys over l. shoulder, r. holding patera, l. cornucopiae.

BUST TYPE VARIETY. Although this bust type is treated as cuirassed, it differs significantly from regular cuirassed bust (see another example of LONDINIUM 14b; BM B.8, 9.295 g). Cloke-Toone calls these eleborated cuirasses with palm leaf decoration as consular cuirasses (p. 32), but the meaning of this variant remains unknown. Was it really meant to be a variation of the consular bust or 'consular' elements were merely used as a decorative motifs.
