BUST TYPE VARIETY. Although this bust type is treated as cuirassed, it differs significantly from regular cuirassed bust (see another example of LONDINIUM 14b; BM B.8, 9.295 g). Cloke-Toone calls these eleborated cuirasses with palm leaf decoration as consular cuirasses (p. 32), but the meaning of this variant remains unknown. Was it really meant to be a variation of the consular bust or 'consular' elements were merely used as a decorative motifs.
