REVERSE

CONCOR-DMILIT [CONCORD MILIT]; Concordia stg. slightly l., holding standard in each hand. Star in right field. PLN in exergue.

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - Y. Not attested for obv. legend 1e (p. 136). For this bust type see also CORRIGENDA, VOL. VI, p. 134. Listed in Huvelin (no. 88) with bust described as cuirassed only. Listed in Saint-Colombier-en-Sarzeau Hoard (p. 83, no. 3290; bust described as cuirassed only). Cloke-Toone lists two separate varieties of this type: with bust cuirassed only (7.04.019) and with bust cuirassed and draped (7.04.020). But note that alleged drapery seen on some specimens could be regarded as balteus, shoulder belt used to suspend sword or to support shield. Should be listed in RIC before LONDINIUM 202.

NOTES

Weight 4.06 g. Note that "G" at end of obv. legend is engraved on the bust and hardly visible. Plate coin in Cloke-Toone for (7.04.020). From the British Museum Collection (reg. no. 1977,1005.21).
