REVERSE

CONSERV-VRBSVAE [CONSERV VRB SVAE]; Roma seated l. on shield in tetrastyle temple, r. handing globe to Maxentius (in military dress, stg. r.), l. holding sceptre; seated captive between; male figures holding long transverse torches as acroteria; wolf and twins in pediment. AQS in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

REVERSE VARIETY. Specimen similar to AQUILEIA 114 except for male figures with torches as acroteria instead of Victories. Note that in "Addenda" RIC lists this variety for AQUILEIA 113 (p. 687; listed twice in Paolucci & Zub: as variety b) of no. 173 and as no. 174). Probably this variety is more common than the listed one. Listed in Paolucci & Zub as variety of no. 175.

NOTES

Weight 6.72 g. Coin sold on Rauch auction 83 (lot 436) in November 2008 for EUR 110.
