NOT IN RIC

MINTMARK VARIETY OR ENGRAVER'S ERROR. Specimen similar to SISCIA 135 except for absence of star in m.m. Note that RIC cites three unique examples of SISCIA 134-136 after NaH [Nagytétény Hoard] but Bruun mentions that "these m.ms. of NaH are conceivably misreadings" (footnote 134-6 on p. 441) and doubts if m.m. ASIS* is genuine (footnote 136-7 on p. 441). Note also that if m.m with star is, after all, genuine, then the specimen in question could be in fact SISCIA 135 with an engraver's error and unlisted officina (for SISCIA 135 only officina A is attested).

NOTES

Weight 2.92 g; diameter 19 mm. Coin sold on Numismatik Naumann auction 90 (lot 649) in June 2020 for EUR 55.
