CONSTANTINVS-AVG [CONSTANTINVS AVG]; head r. with rosette-diadem, looking upwards.

REVERSE

VIRTVSDN-CONSTANTINIAVG [VIRTVS D N CONSTANTINI AVG]; Emperor helmeted, in military dress, advancing r., cloak across l. shoulder flying forward, trophy across l. shoulder, transverse spear in r. hand, pushing capitive on ground with foot. SIS in exergue.

UNLISTED ISSUE. Not attested in RIC but cf. SISCIA 208 (Hirsch xxiv, 2592, 20.06 g, 36 mm); similar gold medallion with bust erroneously marked as E4 (see CORRIGENDA, VOL. VII, p. 451). Should be listed before SISCIA 210.

NOTES

AR medallion (with traces of gilding). Weight 17.76 g; diameter 36,5 mm. From Museum of Fine Arts Boston (no. 1978.35).
