REVERSE

She-wolf stg. l., suckling twins; two stars and wreath above. R "leaf" Q in exergue.

UNLISTED OBVERSE LEGEND. RIC lists this issue only with longer obv. legend: VRBS ROMA BEATA. Footnote on p. 345 to ROME 408: "Dated in LRBC [Late Roman Bronze Coinage] (no. 593) to the time after the death of Constantine I: this is quite possible". It suggests that issue with short obv. legend VRBS ROMA could be an earlier variation. See also CORRIGENDA, VOL. VII, p. 88. Coin should be listed before ROME 408.
