CO-NSTANTI-NVSAVG [CONSTANTINVS AVG]; bust l., laur. helmet (bowl-shaped helmet with a long crest), cuir., spear pointing forward, shield on l. arm [H8 l.].

REVERSE

VIRTV-SAVGG [VIRTVS AVGG]; camp gate with three turrets, gate closed; varying number of stone layers. P in left field, R in right field. RP in exergue.

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - H8 l. Not attested for obv. legend 1 (p. 316). Note unusual helmet: bowl-shaped with a long crest (cf. footnotes to ROMA 148, 167 and 190). For typology of Constantine's helmets on ROME 143-193 issue see CORRIGENDA, VOL. VII, p. 438. Note also that this attribution is uncertain. Officina letter could be "T". Also, camp gate could be described as with no doors. In both cases this coin is still unlisted. Should be listed after ROME 178.
