RIC VII, LYONS [after 62], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED BUST TYPE [I1 l. var.]

OBVERSE

[IMPCO]NSTANTINVSAVG [IMP CONSTANTINVS AVG]; bust l., laur., cuir., Victory on globe in r. hand, parazonium (or sceptre) in l. hand [I1 l. var.].

REVERSE

SOLIINVIC-TOCOMIT[I] [SOLI INVICTO COMITI]; Sol stg. r., looking l., chlamys hanging behind, raising r. hand, globe in l. A in left field, S in right field. PLG in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED BUST TYPE - I1 l. var. Not attested for this rev. type (p. 126). Similar to busts I1 l. or I2 l. For varieties of these busts see CORRIGENDA, VOL. VII, p. 89-90. Note that due to poor condition of both known specimens, the attribution is partly hypothetical.

Listed in Bastien Lyon (294-316) (p. 258, no. 603) but with apparently wrong description of rev. According to Bastien, Sol is stg l. with chlamys across l. shoulder. Note, however, that type described by Bastien with Sol stg l. also exists: see LYONS [after 53], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED BUST TYPE [I1 l. var.]

Not listed in Bastien Lyon (294-316) and Bastien Lyon - suppléments I-II with Sol stg. r. Should be listed in RIC after LYONS 62.
