REVERSE

SOLIINVIC-TOCOMITI [SOLI INVICTO COMITI]; Sol stg. l., chlamys across l. shoulder, raising r. hand, globe in l. hand. TF in left field, star in right field. PLG in exergue.

UNLISTED OBVERSE LEGEND. Rare "dated" coin minted during the fourth consulship of Constantine in 315. RIC lists only longest variety CONSTANTINVS MAX P F AVG COS IIII [1d] with the same bust type for LYONS 37 [rarity R5] (p. 124). Coin should be listed after LYONS 37.

NOTES

Weight 3.07 g; diameter 20.5 mm. Coin sold on CGB auction in October 2006 for EUR 880. Now in Brent Upchurch's collection [click for picture].
