REVERSE

SOLIINVIC-TOCOMITI [SOLI INVICTO COMITI]; Sol stg. l., raising r. hand, chlamys across l. shoulder, holding globe. T in left field, F in right field. PLG in exergue.

UNLISTED OBVERSE LEGEND [1f] AND BUST TYPE - H6 l. Obv. legend and bust type not attested for Soli rev. Listed in Antibes Hoard (p. 334, no. 229; bust erroneously marked as H12 l., also on p. 293). Listed in Bastien Lyon (294-316) (p. 251, no. 556; the same specimen, with correct description). According to Curtis Clay: "Known only from a rubbing, because the coin itself was stolen before it could be photographed! The two spec. seem to be from the same obv. die, but different rev. dies". Should be listed in RIC after LYONS 25.

NOTES

Weight 3.21 g; diameter 21 mm. Coin sold on eBay in October 2004 for USD 70.87. Ex Lars Ramskold. Sold on Leu Numismatik web auction 28 (lot 4485) in December 2023 for CHF 180.
