RIC VII, ARLES 36, CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED OFFICINA T

OBVERSE

IMPCONSTANTINVSPFAVG [IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG]; bust r., laur., dr., cuir.

REVERSE

SOLIINV-I-CTOCOMITI [SOLI INVICTO COMITI]; Sol stg. r., looking l., fold of chlamys spread under l. arm, globe in l. hand, raising r. hand. TARL in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED OFFICINA - T. RIC lists for this type only officina S (p. 237). Note that description in RIC could be misleading. The "fold of chlamys" sometimes means chlamys which Bruun usually describes as "flying under l. arm" (e.g. ARLES 19-20). There is also no mention about globe in l. hand and raised r. hand. For comparison, see picture of ARLES 46 (Sol stg. r. with chlamys across l. shoulder).

NOTES

From NVMMVS BIBLE II (NBD no. 51744).
