REVERSE

PRINCIPI-IV-VENTVTIS [PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS]; prince stg. l., head r., in military dress, holding standard surmounted by eagle with wreath in beak with r. hand, sceptre with l.; behind, standard with wreath on top. AQ in exergue.

UNLISTED ISSUE. Listed in Paolucci & Zub (no. 282). RIC lists in "Addenda and Corrigenda" similar reverse for Constantine II with the same m.m. (AQUILEIA 117A, p. 715). Both coins belong probably to the earlier period and should be listed after AQUILEIA 36.

NOTES

Solidus. Weight 4.39 g; diameter 19 mm. Coin sold on Roma Numismatics auction XIII (lot 930) in March 2017 for GBP 48,000.
