NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED ISSUE. This type is listed erroneously in RIC VII as regular follis (TRIER 208A, p. 181), but at least part of it should be regarded as "billon argenteus" (c. 25% of silver) and listed with the group of TREVERI 825-826 in RIC VI. Note that only PTR mark is correct, because only one officina was working at that time at Treveri. Note also that the bust type is similar to H11 from RIC VII, but there are also a few differences: bust is usually larger, half-length, and could be described as cuirassed and draped. Additionally, two obv. varieties may be listed separately: one with Constantine holding spear, and another with Constantine holding sceptre.

See: Bastien, P., "L’émission de monnaies de billon de Treves au début de 313", Quaderni Ticinesi (Numismatica e Antichità Classiche) 1982, XI, p. 271-278. See: CORRIGENDA, VOL. VII, p. 181, CORRIGENDA, VOL. VI, p. 224.

Coin should be listed after TREVERI 826.
