IMPMAXIMIANVSAVG [IMP MAXIMIANVS AVG]; bust l., laur., cuir., r. holding spear (or sceptre) over r. shoulder.

REVERSE

[GEN]IOPOPV-L-IPOMANI [GENIO POPVLI POMANI (sic!)]; Genius stg. l., modius on head, naked but for chlamys over l. shoulder, r. holding patera, l. cornucopiae. PT in exergue.

UNLISTED BUST TYPE AND OBVERSE LEGEND. Note crude style (falling chlamys looks like a snake) and lettering (POMANI). Specimen has a mintmark specific to Ticinum but an ancient forger probably tried to imitate one of Lugdunum issues.

NOTES

Weight 8.58 g; diameter 28 mm. Coin sold on eBay in April 2011 for $153.58.
