RIC VI, ROME [after 323c], CONSTANTINE I, UNLISTED REVERSE TYPE, OFFICINA S

OBVERSE

IMPCONSTANTINVSPFAVG [IMP CONSTANTINVS P F AVG]; bust r., laur., dr., cuir.

REVERSE

SOLIINV-I-CTOCOMITI [SOLI INVICTO COMITI]; Sol rad., stg. l. in long robe and falling from l. shoulder, raising r. hand, globe in l. RS in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

UNLISTED REVERSE TYPE. Not attested for Rome. Significantly different from ROME 323a with Sol stg. l. and wearing chlamys. Sol in long robe, with shorter rev legend SOLI INVICTO, was minted in Eastern mints in 312-313 (cf. NICOMEDIA 77c, CYZICUS [after 92] or ANTIOCHIA 167c). Coin should be probably listed after ROMA 323c. Note, however, that this type could belong to RIC VII (cf. ROME 57, REVERSE VARIETY).
