VIRTVSCONSTANTINOBC [VIRTVS CONSTANTI NOB C]; bust l., laur., helm., cuir., sceptre over r. shoulder, shield on l. arm [MM var.].

REVERSE

GENIOPOP-VLIROMANI [GENIO POPVLI ROMANI]; Genius stg. l., modius on head, naked but for chlamys over l. shoulder, r. holding patera, l. cornucopiae. Altar in left field, A in right field. PLC in exergue.

BUST TYPE VARIETY. Bust type similar to MM except for laureate helmet. For this issue RIC does not distinguish plain helmet from laureate helmet or radiate helmet. However, this difference is mentioned in footnotes (cf. footnotes 5, 6 and 12 on p. 250 or footnote 3 on p. 251).

Listed in Bastien Lyon (294-316) (p. 180, no. 170). Note that Bastien lists under this number only specimens from officina A. Officina B is listed in Bastien Lyon (294-316) separately (p. 187, no. 222). Note also that LUGDUNUM 173 is listed in RIC with remark "Confirmation needed" (footnote 12 on p. 252) and probably only this variety of bust exists.
