PRINCIPIIVVENTVTIS [PRINCIPI IVVENTVTIS]; Prince stg. facing, head l., cloak hanging from l. shoulder, r. holding globe, l. reversed spear. Star in right field. PLN in exergue.

[CORRECTION]. RIC lists LONDINIUM 233 with bust type R (in mantle). Should be Q (cuirassed). For these bust types see also CORRIGENDA, VOL. VI, p. 134. Listed in Huvelin (no. 142; specimen from the British Museum cited below) with bust described as cuirassed. Listed in Cloke-Toone (7.07.038) with bust described as cuirassed.

NOTES

Weight 4.32 g; diameter 22.5 mm. Plate coin in (7.07.038). Sold on Pecunem auction 9 (lot 763) in November 2013 for EUR 300; sold on CNG Feature Sale 120 (lot 943) in May 2022 for USD 1,500.
