UNLISTED BUST TYPE. Not attested for obv. legend 1a (p. 124). A rare early issue of the reformed London mint that can be differentiated from the unmarked continental mint issues by style and the distinctly smaller lettering. Listed in Cloke-Toone (1.02.001). Should be listed in RIC before LONDINIUM 6a.

NOTES

Weight 9.91 g; diameter 26.3-26.6 mm. Ex Toone collection. Sold on Spink auction 15007 (lot 650) in December 2015 for GBP 160.
