RIC VI, ANTIOCHIA 143, LICINIUS, [CORRECTION]

OBVERSE

IMPCLICLICINNIVSPFAVG [IMP C LIC LICINNIVS P F AVG]; head r., laur.

REVERSE

SOLEINVIC-TO [SOLE INVICO]; Sol, rad. and in long robe, r. raised, l. holding globe stg. in quadriga galloping l. Ι in middle field. ANT in exergue.

NOT IN RIC

[CORRECTION]. Quadriga on rev. is described as galloping right. RIC cites, however, unique specimen from the British Museum which has quadriga galloping left. It means that rev. of ANTIOCHIA 143 (attested for Licinius) is identical with rev. of ANTIOCHIA 142 (attested for Maximinus II) and that both belong to the same issue. Therefore, this coin should be listed before ANTIOCHIA 142.

NOTES

Weight 6.22 g. From the British Museum Collection (reg. no. B.5711). This coin cited in RIC.
